I was born in Primrose, Jarrow, Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1949 & Michael, Cambridge 1948. I studied art in Cambridge at the, now, Regional College affiliated to the Art School, & although accepted for Goldsmith’s, London, decided art teaching was a “proper” job so headed off to Bretton Hall in Yorkshire. Michael & I.married in 1970, He was a welder at the Welding Institute, Abington & his meticulous skills are now a key element in assembling fabulous, multi-canvas installations for me to paint on.

After having 2 adorable boys, Lee & Sean (they are now adorable men), I sold small watercolours but was ssooo bored & prayerfully laid it aside & told God I would wait for His plan for the gift He had given….I waited 15 years! In 1999 our tiny chapel was to host an art exhibition for the Millennium Mission in Cambridge but being too tiny it was cancelled along with our plans! Thinking positively I heard my mouth say, ”I can put some paintings together..!” Then ran home & prayed “HELP.” I was launched into painting in a totally different way. A series Christian paintings which are for exhibition & meditation in churches in & around Cambridge. Painting for God is my real passion.

In 2004 I was diagnosed with breast cancer & after major surgery & reconstruction was restricted once again to the faithful little watercolours. I’m fine now & very thankful to the awesome surgeons & plastic surgery team at Addenbrookes.

Michael is taxi driving now & during the last years since my op has been “driving” me into a new way of life. Encouraging me to end my care work, (which I had been finding increasingly tiring & painful,) & to paint on a more regular basis. The family also rallied round & once again I abandoned the watercolours to paint in yet another totally different style. My son Sean & wife Jo moved into a modern, new home with big, bare walls & they had friends with big bare walls & so a new market opened up to have paintings designed specifically for them, their homes, their tastes. Then along came other clients.

I mainly work to commission but have held exhibitions in Cambridge churches
