THE DOORWAY
In my 20’s I realised that life is not a movie as I plodded on until dreams & rainbows evaporated & depression hit! My exasperated husband said “WHAT DO YOU WANT! THIS IS IT! IT’S THE SAME FOR EVERYONE! But there HAD to be more to life.
THE DOORWAY shows steps in life with the door to eternal life. The boulder, (death) hovers between. A man (bottom left) puzzles over many keys looking for the right one. Another, nearer to the boulder reaches out desperately for the illuminated cross-shaped key, the true key. This moves him out from the shadow of death. A little child watches his example. A COUPLE (left) cling only to each other creating their own heaven. One day they will become a part of the cavern (can you see faces that appeared on their own in the cavern walls?) locked out of the Kingdom of God. MAN (right)tries to beat out his own answers from the rocks, nature, science, history & the heavens, looking for unattainable answers from the created not the creator, turning his back on the cross. JESUS waits outside of the door illuminating the way, waiting for us to embrace His death on the cross and open the door to Him. I was trapped in the cavern, and looking for the key.
